About the Energy Efficiency & RetrofitTech Qatar Summit
Qatar is working towards a very ambitious national goal of reducing the greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 25% by the year 2023. As part of Qatar’s National Vision 2023, several initiatives have been launched to support economic and industry diversification. A number of steps are being taken in the country to ensure sustainable social and environmental progress. Various government agencies are now undertaking policies and regulations related to electricity and water efficiency, while focusing on making the country more energy efficient.
Through its National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), Qatar’s initiatives for increasing energy efficiency and achieving sustainability are driving significant spending in the retrofitting, energy efficiency and sustainability sectors.
There is immense emphasis on implementing advanced technologies and practices to aid the transition to a more sustainable economy across various sectors. There is an accelerated push towards energy efficiency throughout the country as organisations are now beginning to realise opportunities to decarbonise amidst soaring energy costs and increased pressure from various stakeholders.
